Some models of MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) are eligible for a free battery replacement due to a safety recall recently introduced by Apple. As noted in the support article, we recommend creating a current backup of your data before the service is completed. Due to government safety regulations related to lithium batteries, the recall/repair service can take 1-2 weeks to complete due to ground shipping requirements.
